The Asian Institute of Nursing Education (AINE), the first private nursing institute in Northeast India, was established by Dr. Nomal Chandra Borah, a renowned neurologist and visionary founder of the Affordable Health Mission and GNRC Hospital. AINE began its journey with a B.Sc. Nursing course in 2004 under the Institute of Neurological Sciences Trust, Guwahati, and has since expanded to include M.Sc. Nursing (2009), Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (2011), the pioneering Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care program (2018), and the GNM course (2022).
Recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and Assam Nursing Council, AINE is affiliated with prestigious institutions like SNDT Women’s University and Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences. The institute has maintained a 100% placement record since its inception, with alumni excelling as Staff Nurses, Nursing Tutors, Community Health Officers, Nurse Educators, and Nurse Practitioners in State and Central Government institutions and leading organizations in India and abroad. Notable placements include AIIMS New Delhi, Max Hospital, Tata Hospital, and GNRC Hospitals, where 99% of graduates secure positions, with Nurse Practitioners starting at Rs. 45,000.
AINE boasts an unbroken streak of 100 percent pass rates across all disciplines since its establishment. Our students consistently achieve top ranks in university examinations year after year. To honor academic excellence, a cash award of Rs. 25,000 along with a certificate of recognition is bestowed upon the highest achiever in the annual university examination among AINE students.
AINE nurtures students in a multicultural environment, blending academics, clinical training, and extracurricular activities such as NSS programs, college fests and state-level debate competition, etc. To engage and encourage students to participate and showcase their talents AINE organises a college fest, Calantha. There are multiple cultural events, technical fests, celebrity performances and other activities that contribute to the development and knowledge of a student. AINE also organises State level Intercollegiate Debate Competition every year on the occasion of its Graduation Day.
