M. Sc. Nursing Programme

Modern nursing is a dynamic, therapeutic and educative process in meeting the health needs of individuals, the family and the community. It includes both independent and collaborative functioning with the interdisciplinary health care team. Since Nurses provide and will undoubtedly continue to provide with unflinching commitment to a larger part of the health care, their training should equip them with professional expertise to meet the changing demands of society and their expanding role. So, Master of nursing will enrich the knowledge of a professional graduate to fulfill the societal needs and demands.

DURATION
Duration of the course shall be TWO years.

ELLIGIBILITY
a. Only women candidates are eligible to apply for the M.SC (N) programme.
b. Candidate seeking admission shall have:

  • Passed B.Sc.Nursing (Basic) or Post Basic B.Sc.Nursing degree or Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing of S.N.D.T Women’s University Mumbai, or any other university accepted as equivalent to SNDT Women’s University.
  • Minimum of one years of experience after obtaining B.Sc. Nursing (Basic), in a hospital or in Nursing educational institution or in community health setting. For candidates with Post Basic B.Sc. in Nursing degree no such experience is needed after graduation.
  • Registered in State Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.
  • Candidates in service should apply through proper channel.

Student who takes admission for the first time to the S.N.D.T Women’s University shall have to fill in the eligibility from on admission with a fee. All admission is provisional till the eligibility is approved by the university.

The following original certificates together with the attested copies should be submitted with the eligibility form.

1. B.Sc(N) Degree or Pc. B.Sc(N) degree.

2. Marksheet of the B .Sc(N) Degree or Pc. B.Sc(N) degree exam.

3. Migration certificate from the University.
